Visiting Gij\u00f3n with Chap\u00edn Group<\/h2>\n

Sea, nature, culture, gastronomy … Gij\u00f3n has everything to enjoy a few dream days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gij\u00f3n is one of the main cities in northern Spain. With more than 270,000 inhabitants it is one of the many jewels of Asturias. In the same city you can take advantage of the beach, natural spaces, art, culture and gastronomy. There are many places to see and it is an essential getaway to visit at any time of the year.<\/p>\n

\u00bfWhat can you see in Gij\u00f3n?<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cimadevilla neighborhood<\/strong>: enjoy the walk. It is the small fishing town that gave rise to the actual city. Within the neighborhood you can find many of the monuments of the town and also many corners to discover without forgetting enjoying its cider.<\/p>\n

San Lorenzo Beach<\/strong>: Gij\u00f3n is open to the sea and its beach is part of the daily life of the town and also the centre of its history. With a silky sand, the behaviour of the tides there is impressive: you can see the water stroking the promenade walking area or see meters and meters of sand for you to travel until reaching the shore.<\/p>\n

From the beach you can see the Barrio de Cimadevilla and the Church of San Pedro.<\/p>\n

Revillagigedo Palace:<\/strong> the Revillagigedo Palace is an imposing 18th-century building declared of Cultural Interest and forms, next to the Collegiate Church of San Juan Bautista, the Cajastur Palace Revillagigedo Cultural Center.<\/p>\n

The Clock Tower:<\/strong> this tower was built in 1572. The tower served, among other uses, as a prison and today it is a museum that houses archaeological documentation of the city. On its last floor there is a viewpoint with one of the best views of Gij\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

The Roman baths:<\/strong> located in the Campo Vald\u00e9s, next to the Church of San Pedro Ap\u00f3stol, are the Roman baths of Campo Vald\u00e9s, one of the vestiges of the Roman period and one of the most interesting things to see in Gij\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Santa Catalina Hill:<\/strong> compulsory site to visit, with its statue of the Praise of the Horizon created by Eduardo Chillida. The vision of the sea and the horizon is overwhelming and makes us see our insignificance compared to this nature. The Praise of the Horizon is one of the symbols of the city.<\/p>\n
