The city, also known as the Asturian Escorial, is located on the right bank of the Narcea River and the Monastery of San Juan Bautista de Corias was rehabilitated, hosts Corias´s National Tourism Parador.
Asturias has a unique microclimate, for being very close to the sea and for its peculiar terrain orography. The summers are very hot, with temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius, and in winter the minimum temperatures can go down to 10 degrees.
