Today we go to Medina del Campo with the Chapín Group´s bus. Medina del Campo is located on the banks of the Zapardiel River, in the province of Valaldolid. It has a wonderful historical and monumental vestige, which is complicated to find nowadays.

Its “Plaza Mayor” is the central axis of the main festivities of the town, such as its famous fair. On the other hand, one of the reasons why it is worth visiting Medina del Campo is because it has a Museum of Trade Shows and exhibitions, being the only town in Spain to have it.

The Holy Week “Semana Santa” of the municipality is of great attraction for the travellers of the region. In addition, it is the capital of the Rueda Designation of Origin, with an important area dedicated to wine with more than 80 wineries, which is why many enthusiastic fans choose to travel to Medina del Campo.

Medina has Roman roots and vestiges of the Iron Age which have configured peculiar historical and monumental assets in the municipality.

Strolling through the village, we soon see that the Castle of La Mota stands out, with a red colour, very characteristic of the place. The Torre del Homenaje, which catches the attention from a far distance, will attract the curious tourists who want to know Medina del Campo and its history. Open to the public, you can walk through the parade ground, the chapel or the dresser of the queen, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The town, with its large number of beautiful nooks and crannies, was declared an Historic-Artistic Site.

In the Plaza Mayor we find the house where Queen Isabella the Catholic died in 1504, and you can find there a statue to remember this historic landmark.
