Visit some touristic “historic jewels” with Chapín’s Group bus.
You can comfortably travel to large European capitals but also to small corners that will surprise you.

Castro de Santa Tecla with Chapín’s bus.

We are heading to Galician lands in the south of the province of Pontevedra, very close to the border with Portugal. The Castro de Santa Tecla is a Galician fortification and one of the most important archaeological sites in Galicia. Not only can we highlight the patrimonial wealth of Castro de Santa Tecla, but also its natural environment and its proximity to the municipality of La Guardia.

Santa Tecla was declared a National Artistic Historic Monument in 1931. Petroglyphs elaborated 2,000 years before the castro’s occupation can be found in several of the stones of the mountain. It had a continuous occupation between the 1st century BC. C., shortly after the process of Romanization of Galicia, and the first century AD. C. It was discovered in 1862 after the discovery of a bronze sculpture and in 1914 the first excavations were carried out. The site was abandoned between 1933 and 1979. The works were resumed in 1983 and we can now see the walls or cabins.

In addition to knowing one of the most important fortification in our country, you can also travel to this Galician corner where we will be able to enjoy other places with lots of charm.

  • Beaches: Area Grande, Os Muíños, A Lamiña … All of them with fine white sand.
  • The Miño River with an incomparable landscape beauty. In its estuary inhabit animal and plant species of great interest.
  • Parish Church of La Guardia with its baroque facade.
  • You can also visit the old Benedictine convent founded in the year 1,558 and nowadays restored as a beautiful hotel.
  • Wine Festival in mid-August, specifically on the second Sunday, the pilgrimage of the Mount of Santa Tecla is celebrated, halfway between the profane and the religious. Young people end the day soaked in red wine from head to toe.
  • Route through the wetlands. For many it is almost the Doñana de Galicia.
  • Walk along the promenade of La Guardia
  • Visit to the Sea Museum of La Guardia.
