It is safer to travel by bus around the city. Traveling by bus is four times safer than traveling by car, even for pedestrians and cyclists.
A research conducted by the Université de Montréal Public Health Research Institute reports that traveling by bus through the city is four times safer than driving a car.
In this investigation the experts perceived that, after analysing all the urban traffic accidents that occurred in Montreal for ten years, there were more car accidents than buses’ accident. With a total of 278 car accidents, nineteen drivers died, while only ten passengers were injured, along with zero fatalities during that period, in the case of buses suffering a collision.
In this study, they also detailed the number of people killed when being run over by cars, resulting in 42 pedestrians and 3 cyclists dead. On the contrary, only 4 pedestrians and 0 cyclists died ran over by a bus. For this reason, we highly recommend you to travel by coach, and if it is with Chapin Group’ s buses even better.
