Synergies between companies

Meeting between AETRAM and the Community of Madrid to design the mobility of the future.

Finding areas of agreements and solutions to common problems and putting everyone’s challenges on the table are the purpose of those gatherings. Collaboration between different areas of the society is the best way to face the different dilemmas that arise. Without any doubt, transport and mobility is one of the main challenges that we have to face. Sustainability, dispersion, infrastructure, security, business … are for sure, aspects that need to generate synergies between companies and institutions in order to improve the mobility.

In recent days, the Association of Bus Transportation Entrepreneurs of Madrid (AETRAM) and the Community of Madrid gathered for a meeting. The new General Director of Transportation D. Abel Bueno García attended the meeting, accompanied by the Assistant Director General of Transportation, Ms. Mª Fe Borrega Bahón and by the members pf the Board of Directors of AETRAM.

The Issues that were discussed:

Sinergias entre empresas e instituciones para mejorar la movilidad

The issues that were discussed were linked to the synergies between companies and institutions in order to improve the mobility. In this meeting, fundamental issues were raised with the end of contributing to the sustainability of regular transport for special, discretionary and touristic use. Concrete matters discussed were:

  • Urgent measures to avoid unfair competition, the intrusion of foreign companies in the Community of Madrid and Social Dumping.
  • Implementation of a Protocol for the Public Procurement of the Community of Madrid.
  • Unification of bureaucratic paperwork criteria with the Madrid City Council and other city councils, as well as the reduction of bureaucratic charges.
  • Positive assessment of the Madrid Transport Committee, as an ideal entity to provide solutions and strategies.
  • Mandatory use of the tachograph in vehicles in all passenger transport services by road.
  • Aparca-T plan: request to include the Discretionary and Touristic Transport as a mode of Collective Public Transportation within the indicated Plan. This would assimilate this mean of transport to the existing Public transport reservation system for docks, parking slots, station stopping areas, as well as all the use of the services that Public transport benefits from.
  • Annual renewal of the Travelers Costs Observatory of the Community of Madrid (COVIMAD) and its implementation as a reference and benchmark inside the different public tenders.
  • Help for business concentration and for the training of entrepreneurs and their workers.
  • Application for grants to carry out training activities in the sector.

Both AETRAM and the Community of Madrid have committed themselves to efficiently address the proposals and measures necessary to provide effective solutions in order to achieve the best possible mobility model.
